Carmen Galarraga

Hi, I'm Carmen Galarraga, the owner, designer, and maker behind The CG Style , a brand devoted to fashion and jewelry design. I got into the arts and design at a young age, and crafting has always been a passion for me. After many years working in the Oil and Gas Industry, it was recently, in 2021, that I started creating chic and stylish jewelry as a business. Ocassionally, I custom design and manufacture gowns for special ocassions (weddings, "quinceañeras, proms, folkloric, etc). Currently, I am happy creating wearable art in the form of earrings, bracelets, and necklaces using mainly (but not exclusively) semiprecious stones and hypoallergenic metals (gold plated, gold filled and/or surgical steel). To continue mastering my skills, in May 2022, I received my certificate as Jewelry Designer from the International Associations of Professions (IAP) Career College. I am looking forward to keep growing my bussines and establish an onliwe store in the near future. Oh, last but not least, I am bilingual English-Spanish, I hold a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering for Heavy Oils Upgrading from the University of Calgary, and I am the President of Cantares Venezuelan Cultural Foundation (https://www.cantaresvcf.com/).

My name is Yevheniia Sharova. I’m a Fashion designer, garment technologist and seamstress. Currently I’m working at Halstead Sofa and Mattress Makers in a position as a Sewing & Design Facilitator. I speak Ukrainian, Czech and English. My personal brand is Sharova design, which produces custom clothes for men and women and women’s underwear. I also offering clothes repair services. For nowadays my goal is to develop my ready to wear collection of underwear for women and sportswear’s collection for men and women. Fatimata Niang

My name is Fatimata Niang. I am one of the founders and General Secretary of Renndo Subalbe International (RSI) which in my mother tongue translates to “The Gathering Of Fishermen”. I wish to conserve my culture and spread it to the youth of Canada, these are glorious tales and legends of the fisherman living along the Senegal River that three countries share (Senegal, Mauritania an Mali). My ultimate dream is to create comics and animated short films about these stories. My goals are to foster solidarity, as well as encouraging generosity, through the promotion of cultures, rituals and traditions. In addition, I'd like to inspire the people to help maintain our environment by sharing its natural beauty. I have 20 years of experience in accounting and as a payroll administrator. One of my greatest achievements is receiving the leadership prize under the PIA association for being controller and treasurer of the Senegalese association of Calgary. Hi. My name is Monika Ghali. I am an immigrant woman who desires to become an entrepreneur. In the future, I want to introduce the organic, natural and warm winter wear products of Mongolia. I will provide you brief information about wool from Mongolia which is the highest quality wool in the world. Mongolian yak, sheep, goats, and camels are raised naturally, and spend most of their lives in open, unfenced pastures, making the wool organic. In Mongolia temperature reach -40 degrees in winter and at that harsh weather Mongolian livestock survive by the grace of superior warm quality wool grown in naturally. The wool is hand-combed by the herders. Through that process, the animals will also enjoy a breezier summer. I have a dream of becoming an entrepreneur who has a passion to lead and help to other Mongolian businesswomen introduce and export their businesses to Canada by linking their websites to my business. My background in accounting will be helpful to me in starting this business. I love hiking in the mountains around Calgary in winter with my friends. I speak in Mongolian and English.

Rimpi Dhiman

My name is Rimpi Dhiman. I have a Ph.D. in Earth Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. My experience spans the fields of teaching and immigration. I am Director Admissions and Content Lead at Planet Geology. I immigrated to Canada in 2020 in the middle of the Pandemic with no financial means to support me here. Planet Geology grew more out of a necessity than anything else, but it is now rapidly capturing the international market in the field of geoscience exam preparation. We have achieved 100% growth for the past two consecutive years. I aspire to make Planet Geology become a one-stop-solution for all the exam preparation of the students in Earth Science discipline. I love helping students achieve their career goals and this journey of the past two years has been highly rewarding. Hello, Hola, my name is Rita Pintor. I have cleaning company and I want this business to grow by getting new customers. I would also love to start a new business in making Latin Food. My specialty are burritos, tacos and quesadillas and I would lie to offer that to busy moms and families.
